DSE Analyst ("the app") provides educational analysis of public Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) data. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with data.
We collect nothing that identifies you unless you sign in. Signing in is optional and every analysis screen works without it. We use no third-party analytics SDK and no tracking SDK.
What changed, and when. Until this version the app carried no advertising SDK at all, and earlier versions of this policy said so. The app now shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob, which does collect data as described under “Advertising” below. We are stating the change here rather than quietly editing the old sentence out, because the earlier promise was unqualified and some readers will have relied on it.
If you sign in with Google, we collect:
This is stored in Google Firestore under your account. Access rules restrict every record to its owner, so no other user of this app or the website can read your holdings. We never sell it and never share it with third parties. To be exact rather than flattering: we operate the Firebase project, so an administrator of it could in principle inspect stored data — we do not, and there is no feature, export or process that does.
We do not collect financial account information. Holdings are share codes and quantities you type in yourself. There is no broker connection, no payment processing and no custody of any asset.
In the app: Settings → Account → "Delete my account data" erases the stored record permanently and signs you out. Signing out on its own leaves your holdings on the phone and does not delete anything. Settings → "Clear my data" clears the on-device copy. To request deletion by email instead, write to the address at the foot of this page.
The app downloads public market data (analysis files and end-of-day / latest prices) over the internet to display the guide and charts. These requests contain no personal data and are identical for every user. If you are signed in, your own watchlist and holdings are additionally synced to your private record as described above; nothing else about you is uploaded.
The app shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. Google is a third party and, when it serves an ad, it may collect and use data about your device to select and measure that ad — including your device’s advertising identifier, coarse device and network information, and the fact that an ad was shown or tapped. Google’s own description of this is at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your holdings are never used to target advertising. Your watchlist, portfolio, recorded trades and notes are not shared with Google or with any advertiser, and are not used to choose which ads you see. Ads are not shown on the portfolio, watchlist or account screens.
You can limit this. Android lets you delete or reset your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, from Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device. Choosing that does not stop ads appearing; it stops them being personalised, and it applies to every app on the phone, not only this one.
Where local law requires it — for example for users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — the app asks for your consent before serving personalised advertising, and you can change that choice later from Settings.
With your permission, the app may show notifications about data updates or changes to stocks on your watchlist or in your portfolio. They are generated on your device. We send only a contentless signal telling the app that new market data is available; the app then decides, on the phone, what is worth telling you. Your holdings are never evaluated on our servers, and no personal data leaves the device for this purpose.
The app is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children.
